Salam Wanglang (สลาม วังหลัง) is a new and popular riverside halal restaurant near Siriraj Hospital. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the Wanglang Market which is a historic local market located next to the river.
Patrons are greeted by a great view of the Chao Phraya River and the attached riverboat pier. Air-conditioned indoor seating is available, but we highly recommend sitting outside as it is very nice, especially during the evenings. It’s a great place to people watch while dining on one of the extensive menu items on offer. Here, servings of different types of cuisines may be found including Thai, Japanese, Korean, and American.
The Korean beef hot plate was not bad and was served in a nice portion which left us feeling quite full.
We also tried the Japanese tempura chicken with rice which was also quite nice and served piping hot.
Honestly, the food taste is good but not exactly the greatest halal Japanese or Korean food you can find in Bangkok. Rather, if you come here with good company and enjoy the excellent view you will not be disappointed!
