Chiang Mai: Halal Street and Shopping Area

Halal food can be easily found in Chiang Mai. Located near the Night Bazaar, adjacent to Chang Klan Rd, Halal Street Hilal Town is a popular area among Muslim travelers. This stretch of is the best place to fulfill your stomach after a long day.

There are also plenty of halal snacks to bring home as souvenir.

Baan Haw Mosque is also located along the area. It is one of the biggest mosques in the province.

I get my lunch fixed at Khao-Soi Islam Restaurant, originally opened by Cin Haw muslims from Kunming. Nothing fancy on the decor; simple, clean and affordable food.

There are also plenty of halal restaurant at Anusarn Night Bazaar. Here you can also find vendors selling almost anything you can think of. From souvenir, Thai silk, handicrafts, knick-knack and many more. Do remember to use your haggling skills.

The Bazaar can get very crowded during the weekends.

Lookout for Banana Roti and Mango sticky rice stall!

Their French Crepes worth a try too.

My hotel’s front desk also recommended me to visit one of the newest mall in Chiang Mai, Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center. Located at Nimmanhaemin district, Maya (Pronounced as “Mayor”) has a mix of Thai and international brands outlets.

The Observation Skydeck offers stunning view of the district.
