Chiang Mai is home to one of the best-kept secret restaurants mainly known only to local Muslims: Ruammitr 1.
Located in the commercial Chang Khlan Road area, this 150-seat Chinese-Muslim restaurant serves some of the most authentic Chinese cuisines on a budget. Look for the red sign with the halal logo around 50 meters to the right of the Empress Hotel. It’s also not far from the 3D Art Paradise attraction.
The piping-hot gyozas are served with a dipping sauce that has a slight, Thai twist of chili. Their Sichuan-style tofu is also delectable with generous portions.
You can expect to spend around 100-200 Baht per person for a filling meal at Ruammitr 1.
